My advice is to stay a way from these websites. I am sure it is nice to make a lot of $$$ in the first two weeks. But if I had a website that in two weeks made some money I wouldn’t sell it so fast. I am sure you wouldn’t do it too…

For the traffic: It is easy to divert traffic to your website. There are many websites that sell traffic. You can buy for $25 or so, 1000 visitors a day. So what? it doesn’t mean anything.

My strategy is the look after websites that are at least 6 months old. One year is even better. By doing that I can see the traffic for long time, and if the income is steady or not.

Don’t buy a website without looking into its stat! Don’t even count on screen-shots. There are many things you can learn from reading the stat, and it is one of the most important things when you buying a website.

Personally I prefer the awstat – I find it more accurate. But not all the websites have it. Webalizer is fine, but it doesn’t show all the keywords that search engines send to the website. If the seller refuse to show the stat freely, back off. He has something to hide.
